This study explores the theme of social criticism in the narrative poems of Elia Abu Madi, one of the leading figures of the Mahjar (immigrants) literally movement. Through his poetic storytelling, Abu Madi highlights a range of social issues prevalent in Arab society during the early 20th century, including hypocrisy, ignorance, and inequality. His poems often reflects a progressive humanist vision educating for enlightenment, rational thinking, and social reform. By blending poetic beauty with sharp societal critique, Abu Madi successfully engages readers emotionally while arguing them to reflect on the flaws and contradictions within their communities. This paper analysis selected narrative poems to reveal the poet’s critical stance and the literary revises he uses to express his reformist ideas.
